Varshal thrives in the commercialization of novel technologies. With over 2 decades of strategic life science marketing and sales experience, he has held commercial management and leadership positions in a number of organizations ranging from startups to publicly traded conglomerates. Varshal trained under Harold “Skip” Garner at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He holds a M.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an A.B. in Chemistry from Duke University.
Séverine Tamas-Lhoustau, EU Business development and Operations
Séverine is the managing partner of Novoptim: she co-founded her business consulting company in 2006. Novoptim is a European business consulting firm supporting technology companies worldwide to speed up access to the European Life Science, Healthcare and In-Vitro Diagnostic markets. Novoptim combines solid market experience and scientific background to support its clients address the market opportunities, focus on the most relevant applications and acquire new clients.
Alex Margulis, Business Development
Dr. Margulis has more than 20 years of science and business development experience in the Life Science industry. Trained as a cellular and molecular biologist, his accomplishments include a dozen authored scientific papers and numerous abstracts. In business development, Dr. Margulis increased sales by 200% within two years in the US and Canada, placing the Capital Equipment instruments into world-class academic and biotech/pharma accounts in the Boston area, and achieving a 90% occupancy rate in less than 2 years at a Life Science incubator.
Richard Stelluto, Regional Business Development Manager
Richard has a Masters degree from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and is currently the President and CEO of Boston Bio Partners, Inc. He has partnered with scientific equipment manufacturing companies since 1991 to promote and drive sales in defined U.S. markets.
Vijay Bhakta, Regional Business Development Manager
Vijay has spent his 25 year career in the San Francisco Bay Area helping to introduce new disruptive brands and re-positioning mature brands to new and untapped markets. His experiences cover a diverse series of roles ranging from Sales and Marketing as well as Research, Production and QC positions. Through out his career he has marketed and sold small and large capital equipment to a diverse series of markets including Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, Academics, Government labs and Medical Devices companies.
Nicolas Neckelmann, Regional Business Development Manager
Dr. Neckelmann has a track record of more than 25 years in the biotech industry covering product development, R&D, marketing, sales, operations management, and investor relations. His recent efforts have focused on cytogenetics, molecular clinical diagnostics, genomic analysis, and genetic testing based on Next Generation Sequencing. His focus is on teamwork and the customer. Previous customers included Genentech, Quest Diagnostics, Kaiser Permanente, ARUP Laboratories, MD Anderson Cancer Center and multiple academic institutions.
David Kulick, Regional Business Development Manager
David Kulick has been in the Life Sciences area for 40+ years with a primary focus on working with startup organizations. He has an MS in Genetics and has extensive experience in the Genomics area working with companies such as Invitrogen, Afffymetrix and Amaxa and more recently in the Proteomics area with Quanterix. He has directly covered accounts located on the Eastern Coast of the US.
Christina Cullum, International Business Development Manager
Christina is an innovative leader and a savvy business developer who created the Houston Black Book to bring philanthropy and business together. She has worked with national and international businesses, presidents and C-level leadership in all industries, to bring cutting edge technology to market. All of her work is done with a commitment to integrity, transparency and excellence. Christina has established an international and nationally recognized level of expertise with a mission to facilitate collaboration between business, academic institutions, eminent scientists, and the public sector. Her interests and expertise are not limited, but include pharma, diagnostics, cardiovascular, neuroscience, infectious disease, preventative health systems, health care, anti-aging, including stem applications, scientific therapies, and “emerging life science projects”.
Olivia Meyer, Marketing Consultant
Olivia is a Master’s of Biotechnology student at Northwestern University following a Neuroscience & Physiology degree from University of California, San Diego. She has been working in the biotechnology industry since 2015 in content creation and strategic marketing. Olivia has worked with Illumina, United Biochannels, Cisco, and on a variety of consulting projects at smaller biotechnology companies.
